This is talking about cases. This is an article about a bloke in his basement making Dr Who cases for your Windows 11 rig and making it sound like we are now The Culture.
I didn’t read it and don’t have an account.
Do you think Google is proud of this work, do you think the people working on double serving ads feel pride in their ‘experimentations’. In their personal time and at the end of their lives will they be happy they took things people liked and made them worse, even unusable for their money. That their only contribution was to scrawl their mess over that of others. Do they cling to the idea that it makes delivery free at the point of use as they make far more from their low practices than they would from honest subscriptions. Are they glad that their living makes the world more mundane. Happy to mar the endeavours of humanity, and as we push into space and maybe meet other intelligences ours will be the only ships with ads for toilet rolls on the outside. And throughout all of this shame the kicker is we would buy toilet rolls anyway.
It is pretty close to the first of April.
Describing the ability to make a local account as a loophole is letting a little too much real intention slip out.
Sounds cool.
One of the first things Google did when it bought YouTube was to remove direct messaging, don’t want people wasting time talking to each other when they should be watching ads.
Have you put all your money into polystyrene beans again Kevin.
No one told the US to be careful what you wish for.
Things will creep in at night, I mean spiders not Nosferatu. Although maybe Nosferatu. You don’t often hear a monster work the word enmity into a sentence.
I think it is not fear of tomorrow but fear of extinction that causes this. I think it comes from a real, not simply intellectual realisation that life is finite and anything lost now will not come back. An instinctive urge to wring the most out of life as the void closes in. The daily version of not going ‘gentle into that good night’.
I think that is called the human condition.
Correlation does not equal causation.
Billionaires do not have any special talents, perhaps beyond a coldness of spirit and lack of empathy so that their population is determined by the current holding capacity of the socio-economic and political world they find themselves in. What I mean to say by this is if you cause a particular billionaire to live an additional hundred years the result is not an increase in the net number of billionaires but rather their revised individual longevity simply limits other sociopaths from assuming billionaire status. Now you likely do not personally know any billionaires so whether they are constantly reshuffled by a natural lifespan or its the same set of long lived fuckers actually makes no odds to you. You do however very likely know people within a fifty meter radius of you, family and friends. Your life will be greatly enriched by the resurrection of such people and for the reasons I have stated not overly harmed by Nosferatuing a few mega-rich.
How could I not comment on the posts I comment on and also not comment on the others that I don’t comment on.
OpenAI states there are doubts over the legality of some of the actions of its competitors, further stating there are no doubts over the legality of some of its own actions.
What do we want?
Long term solutions drawing on considered and intelligent analysis of all of the facts available.
When do we want it?
We haven’t thought this through.
