Prior to the lemmy update, I had a comment viewing problem. Refreshing the comments in my app would fix it. This issue is happening when viewing lemmy in my browser as well as my app. Refreshing doesn’t fix the problem. Only when I am logged out can I see the comments. I can only see and respond to your comment through my inbox. If I go to the post. It all disappears.

Edit: Weirdly, I can see your comment, but not any of the others.

It’s not an account blocking issue. I cannot even see the comments on this post, including my own. I can only see your comment in my inbox. If I go to this post it does not show any comments, even my own replies.

I haven’t blocked anyone. Weirdly, I don’t see your comment, except in my inbox. If I go to my post and log out, your comment shows. If I log back in, I see no comments.

Yes there is a way to opt out. Just opt out of Facebook and Meta products all together.

Even when I had a reddit account, I would use Google to search, because reddit search feature is crap. The Google search would often result in me exploring and/or subscribing to a new community. So, for me, Google searches increased my reddit interactions.

I think some of my issues were caused by having two different accounts with the same username, but on different instances. I originally created an account on a different instance but used lemmy.world as my main. Once I deleted the information for the other account my main problems seemed to fix. I still get comment display issues, but those usually fix when I hit refresh. I think that has more to do with federation issues.

My language is English. What is really weird is that I can only see this comment in my inbox. If I try to go to the actual post I get a blank screen/error. I don’t even know which of my comments about these issues that you are responding to.

I have been using two different apps, Liftoff and Connect. Neither one displays the proper posts. Connect doesn’t show any posts. But even using the web browser I can’t see new posts.

Client? I’m sorry. I am very new to this. Does client mean app? Or instance? I am signed into lemmy.world on two different mobile apps (Connect and Liftoff) as well as being logged in on my browser (Firefox for mobile). All three options produce the same results for that community. Is there a different option I should try?

Also odd: I don’t see any of the comments to my post, except in my inbox. And when I view your profile it only show one 25 day old post for you even though it says you have made 55 posts.

Another edit: the replies to my post dissappear from my inbox after I hit the checkmark to mark them as read. I can only see and edit this comment because I haven’t navigated away on the app I have it open in. If I go to my inbox on my browser or the other app, I can’t see any of the replies.

I use sync and love it. I used sync for reddit and paid the pro and the ultra subscription. I don’t have a problem with the app. I was just clarifying what the payment options were for. I don’t know how expensive it is to run an app or the server for the ultra features.

No. But you have to pay for ad-free. The ultra subscription service is more expensive than it was under reddit Sync. I’m hoping the prices will go down as the app gets more popular. I’m guessing the dev is trying to make up for the lost revenue from shutting down the reddit app.

I’m pretty sure their main issue is that they don’t want to be the ones doing the age verification. Louisiana set up a state run verification system, and pornhub has continued to operate their site in the state. I don’t want porn sites to have my ID info.
