I waddled onto the beach and stole found a computer to use.

I think the user is referring to the ‘open by default’ and ‘supported links’ feature in android apps, where clicking a link in a web browser opens it in the relevant app
I use this and it seems to work well. Boost should implement something similar, but in the meantime does this app help in your case?
While it’s still somewhat of a blackbox, some definitions of “open source AI” are better than others
The OSI one is decent
The community !tech@programming.dev could also use some love
It looks like there are a number of reports on this post. If you could edit a tag into the title, such as [
, that would probably make everyone happy ]
When an instance is defederated, that happens at the server level. That content doesn’t get loaded onto your Lemmy instance to begin with, and so you wouldn’t see anything. From memory the comment count would be lower on a post on your instance compared to the foreign one
That might be your language settings. Go into your main Lemmy settings and make sure that ‘Undetermined’ is selected

Did you happen to change the link? I don’t notice the issue
It might also help to take screenshots of what you’re seeing
Nice, I like it :)
You could add a word or phrase to remind people that it’s being given away for free to anyone that wants to run it. That might get people to think about any benefit they are getting out of it, and how much they want to donate in response.
I’m not sure what is the best wording for that, but just be careful in case someone misunderstands and thinks it might become paid someday. I’ve seen that complaint in the past
For example, this could be misinterpreted:
and if you want to keep using it for free
You can also add a note about the frequency of the messages. Saying that you will only remind people once a year is nice to hear, and that way people won’t dismiss it thinking they will do it when they are reminded the next time
You can just paste the link normally. If you want custom text on the link, you do this
[Custom text](https://example.com/)
Renders this
Also I think the post is talking about hiding the data to begin with. There are already some tracking tools out there that look at the existing data. If the data isn’t accessible to you, then it’s not accessible to the AI either. Nothing for anyone to look at
Although I’m not familiar with flight details to know what exactly is being hidden, or if there are workarounds
Some brainstorming from me:
Alternatively, what would a recycling/conversion program look like?
Gmail’s search and filters have been annoying for some time now. This feels like an overpowered bandaid to that problem
With that in mind, I LOVE how lean and fast some FOSS apps/projects are. One of my motivations to go searching for FOSS alternatives is when something seems slow for no reason.
It’s not always the case, but it’s often the case
You might already be aware of this, but if not: https://join-lemmy.org/news/2025-02-03_-_Breaking_Changes_in_Lemmy_1.0
The major breaking changes for version 1.0 are already implemented. However it will still take a lot of work to implement the new features in lemmy-ui, and publish the final release. So this is a good time for developers of Lemmy clients to start adapting the new API, and suggest changes before it gets finalized.
They’re from a good while before, and I’m not sure it would be appropriate for your use case.
Matrix is much closer to the Slack / Discord format. It IS a bit more complicated than those two, especially if you’re self hosting it, but it has a lot of similar functionality
I went to grab Bobby Tables and found this new variation
Looks nice and clean, I like it
I get comments on months old posts, I’m fine with it since it will help future users
If the person is looking for a discussion (ex. They need help with the software I posted about), then it’s usually better they make a new post
