Data scraping is a logical consequence of being an open protocol, and as such I don’t think it’s worth investing much time in resisting it so long as it’s not impacting instance health. At least while the user experience and basic federation issues are still extant.

My kids’ pediatrician has something similar. Their model is you pay some nominal amount annually (I think it was $50/kid) and while they still bill insurance for your visits, all copays and incidentals are waved not including lab work. Works out for them because they’re not wasting staff time tracking down copays and get that money up front for the year and if we end up having to go more than once a year it’s cheaper for us.

Iirc indoor ranges need ventilation systems because, you know, all the combustion. I don’t know if the residue on, say, counters, etc, is enough of a buildup to be significant but I would be surprised if airborne particulate was particularly high.

But you gotta make sure you are not falling into paranoia. It is a concerning disease and you should be careful not to fall into it.
