I am sorry, I don’t think I follow, I am CGNATED anyway, so I need to use VPNs to access my server (if IPv6 is not available, for IPv4 I am experimenting with Tailscale funnels as of now).

It is if you have compared them together.
I haven’t recently thought and I am a lifetime Plex pass user (we will see what lifetime truly means sooner or later) and I have still been unaffected by most of the changes Plex has done (watch together is the 1st valuable feature that I have lost), so if you can’t expose Jellyfin then it is not better than Plex for me.
Huh, I can’t check the link right now… But if exposing Jellyfin to the Internet is not an option, then it is not ready to be shipped as the Plex replacement I have heard a lot here and on Reddit.
I expose some stuff through IPv6 only with my Synology NAS (I am CGNATED) and I have always wondered if I still need to use fail2ban in that environment…
My Synology has an auto block feature that from my understanding is essentially fail2ban, what I don’t know is if such a feature works for all my exposed services but Synology’s.
Any paid open source software you’d consider to pay?
The patched 3rd party apps were the first that came to my mind… Gladly I barely use the DMs feature, even less the chat feature lol.
Yeah, I would like an explanation too.
Try Summit for Lemmy, thank me later.
It is good to see you back!
I was a bit sad when I saw you released the new Boost version just a few days before the Reddit APIcalypse just because why not, I am glad you can keep your beloved project now with Lemmy!
Reddit getting rid of top notch quality apps such as Boost was definitely quite a dumb move.
No time to self host their own social media I guess.
I’d recommend Summit, Voyager and Boost instead (even when the latter could break too if the dev doesn’t show up).
Heck, at this point Lemmy already delivers a better mobile experience because it actually supports 3rd party apps lol.
I don’t know about you, but my feed has been way more varied in the last few weeks than some months ago, that plus Summit for Lemmy (android client app) I am missing Reddit less and less each day.
Even when we are in a different echo chamber, I can clearly notice I am not being fed up with an algorithm, everything feels more organic here, is it missing less mainstream communities? For sure, but that will come with the time, I was hesitant when the APIcalypse, but each Reddit update I am more confident the future looks brighter on this side.
LMAO, he also made me check it.
347 MB for me, no wonder why I am always struggling with storage for my 128 GB phone (with not expandable storage of course), and I don’t even have that many games, even less ROMs 😅
I don’t know about you, but my first android experience was with MIUI in 2020 (can’t remember the MIUI ver and Android ver) and I was confused af, then fast forward to multiple custom ROMs I think they have obfuscate a lot of functions along the way in AOSP that I just say fuck it and end up using the search setting function.
So in a nutshell, I ask for a change, but for the better.
Wdym by bypass obsidian Sync? Do you have the link for said plug-in?
Thanks, I haven’t used pi-hole in a while, but it looks the same for me.
Does it do auto certificate renewal?
Yes.
Have you considered using a Cloudflare tunnel to bypass the CGNAT?
I did before when I had some free domain over there, but I don’t think there are any worthy free domains out there anymore, and even when they are cheap, I really don’t need it and don’t feel comfortable to pay for something that I can’t use in its fullest (due to CGNAT).
For example, I am aware cloudflare tunnels can’t be used for a Plex/Video streaming and that is the number 1 service that I want to be exposed to the Internet.
For now I am living with my IPv6 address and the Synology DDNS with the reverse proxy features… My personal fallback are Tailscale and Zerotier.
I use Synology integrated reverse proxy, stupidly simple and always works for me (only if IPv6 doesn’t fuck up itself, I can’t fallback to IPv4 because that is CGNATED), if I am missing features that other options have I would like to know :)
This is some cope mechanism or some Stockholm syndrome right there.
You don’t have hobbies you’d like to be healthy or sane to keep enjoying?
For one I would drop social media time… That’s where the toxicity gathers.
