Avatar is a lemming in bed because this account wasn’t intended to be used except for creating communities… and then my instance announced it was closing.

Ha ha, maybe a bug report for the Lemmy UI is in order?
In theory they all should - the read status is stored in your Lemmy account (provided the app is doing the appropriate API calls - if it isn’t, raise a bug report!)
TIL that painkillers don’t work on redheads.
Usually just remember stuff. I’m terrible at taking notes - I either forget to take any paper/pen or I don’t know what’s important and don’t make any notes.
If I get an action item I’ll write it down or stick it somewhere on my work phone. It probably won’t make much sense so I’ll need to remember what it was about anyway - it just serves as a reminder that I need to do something.
At my first job somebody showed me a system that I needed to use, step by step, for a task that I needed to do to cover them the next week. I took no notes (didn’t even occur to me), she was surprised that I took no notes, but I remembered it all and did the task.
I’m not sure my memory is quite good enough to trust these days, but back then it worked fine.
Bookwyrm if you want something Fediverse.
Storygraph I think is the other popular one (I’ve not used it)
26°C would likely give me a headache.
I try to keep the house at around 20°C, and if I’m chilly put a jumper on.
Oh, fuck off.
“Oh, perhaps we could assign it to the actual Indian Ocean, as that’s quite a persuasive 💰 argument 💰.”
“… Or perhaps NASA would like to administer it on behalf of the aliens on Io until we make contact…”
I know there are other casual-usage words for big categories of critters
And that’s the only word you need, right there.
Yeah the main instance is Chinese, there are English ones but not many. It’s still new.

The church is from 14th century. There are a couple of iron age hill forts (no building). I think most of the regular buildings are 19th century onwards.
Thanks, that should do the job!
Took me a little while to find it as the brushes needed swiping to get the block on screen - it didn’t look like there were any extras.
This is nice! I’ve replaced some little tools with this. What it can’t seem to do though is pixelate a specified area of an image, unless I’ve missed how to do that? It only seems to do the whole image.
Upvoted for NetSurf. I wrote the Amiga frontend for it, and as such it’s my favourite browser on that platform (OS4 anyway - the OS3 build is very unstable)
Apparently deaf from birth people don’t make any noise when they sneeze, as they’ve not heard anybody else do it so don’t know they “should”.[1] I’m not a particularly loud sneezer but it strikes me as odd that any noise at all would be learned behaviour.
Some people do make a lot of noise though, to the point where I’m thinking that it can’t all be involuntary.
I heard this from years ago; don’t know how true it is ↩︎
Yep, it’s a PITA to parse and get the values you want. Much prefer JSON. Recently when I needed to parse XML I ran it through an XML to JSON library. Much easier!
If you need to parse XML just for RSS though, it isn’t so bad as there are RSS specific libraries which take most of the pain away.
We get Maize Mazes in the UK 🙂
