I mean blocking specific countries is stupid anyway. Historically China has been playing games with the EU and the US on a geopolitical level. But: Chinese, European as well as American researchers have been at the core of research on current topics like AI, security, etc. Btw. ironically the scientific landscape is very collaborative and borders on a federated model, it’s actually pretty neat how much researchers don’t care about country of origin.
What I’m saying is introducing geopolitics into open source development or research is one of the most stupid things to do, because it punishes both your and the other country and only benefits uninvolved third parties. It’s literally shooting yourself in the foot.
Depending on your setup, YouTube will still fingerprint your browser and track your behavior, as is common practice with ad networks.
Your cookies and data might be cleared but as long as yt has any way to generate a unique identifier out of your browser preferences, it will identify you and start looking at your behavior / figuring out an algorithm.
Just fyi.
Yes, been using that to track my bank accounts and stuff and it’s really helpful, although I had some trouble understanding how to use it since I’m a layperson xd
Not envious of that serial killer having to decide between Assembly and Haskell
Yeah but that doesn’t mean there aren’t lot of them though. I reckon it’s a 30/70 situation.
Sounds kinda inconvenient to put it on Valentine’s Day as everyone will be preoccupied for obvious reasons…
I have a similar thing and something I realized about 2 years ago: everyone’s just people. Genders have different tendencies for generalized thinking patterns and behavior patterns but men are just women with different genitals and vice versa, as goes for all other genders.
The differences that exist are quite something to get used to, but there aren’t a lot of them, and the only way to treat your crush is like a best friend that is very open and maybe also has sex with you.
As a guy, getting used to talking about feelings and being open is still hard, but I’m getting better at it. I’m just not as attractive so I have yet to notice someone being physically attracted to me, and only handful have been interested in me at all. Nevertheless, I’m learning and losing inhibitions, and that’s the most important thing.
Filing my taxes.
I would assume if the instance shuts down this means at the next point of sync the instance will disappear from your radar, pulling all posts and accounts and communities from that instance.
Iirc the likes from your account on that instance’s posts might be either completely removed (because the post doesn’t exist anymore) or they are in limbo but invisible and inaccessible, although I have no clue how that would work.
Yeah I can see the API call shenanigans. I’m using super maven for code and it’s pretty good tbh, it gets me 30% of the way or something. But API calls is a no-go, it almost never gets it right because I’m pretty sure it’s very hard for AI to learn the differences in API endpoints.
This is not just an opinion btw, there is a clear link between censorship and effectiveness. Essentially, the more you make topics or content off-limits, the worse it gets at it’s normal tasks too.
This has been studied quite a bit and there’s evidence for it.
This should work with deepseeker-r1 as well right? I assume that’s gotta be a bit better even.
Alright no hate on Bernie tho, that dude is a role model through and through.
Probably alright then.
I personally believe if everyone involved is fine with it, then that’s ok.
But of course that can change, I guess be aware of that?
Yeah TL;DR you’re good I think.
Does their spouse know? How do they feel about it?
