This is how I started in a tiny room. I am not proud, but maybe good to show between all the shiny things here.
It is nice, but not e-ink
My personal printer works flawlessly on Linux, except that it cannot be convinced to print double-sided, no matter how deep I dig into the settings. Boils my blood.
https://filebrowser.org/ just exposes a filesystem you point it at. Never had problems wit this. For syncing you can use syncthing.
I should really start doing that, not sure why I’ve never thought of that
I found 2, but I am sure there are more. https://masto.host/ https://toot.io/mastodon_hosting.html
Christian Horner?
Yeah, F1 driver Max Verstappen is in a similar situation. Clearly insanely talented, but probably got there by having a childhood which was pretty fucked up (left at gas station by father in Italy if he lost a karting race, etc.).
Maybe we miss out on a couple of savants without this kind of treatement, but it is a pretty good tradeoff, especially if you think about all the kids that did not make it to the top, and just had a abusive childhood without anything to show for it.
Wikipedia actually has an article about it. They are mainly bothered by the unreadability of it. Editors can indeed bundle citations as you suggest, but it takes some manual effort.
Citation overkill is also a bit of a red flag for edit wars, or barely-notable things that someone really wants to have on a wiki page.
Nono, the other way round. Visit it with chrome and spoof a firefox user agent, so it looks like you used firefox, while you can still use the website.
Bullshit. I can use docker without the docker hub very easily. Anyone can host docker images, and docker allows this, no weird hacks needed.
Docker does not lock you in with the docker hub though. So no hostage taking.
Moissanite is chemically different to diamond (SiC vs C), has a different crystal structure, and is less hard. You can also get actual lab-grown diamond, but they are quite expensive. But you probabaly won’t be able to tell the difference anyway.
For the lazy: “The oldest surviving torrent we have seen is a copy of the Matrix fan film “The Fanimatrix”.”
Honestly, a bit of a mixed bag. The FP4 has some weird software issues sometimes, which you probably won’t see at the big name brands: ghost touches, camera crashes (requires a reboot), problems with call quality, etc. I think the pros probably outweigh the cons, but something to keep in mind.
Not sure how big the problems are with custom ROMs. Also, FP5 is coming soon(-ish), so maybe some of the problems will be fixed?
Oops, yup, very true, I always confuse the Greek and Roman gods 😅
Just because I was curious: Sony comes from sonos, sound in Latin. Nike is the Roman Greek God of victory. Lego is is a Danish abreviation for “play well”. Cisco comes from San Fransisco. Adobe is the name of a Creek near the founders house.
Please don’t! Or at least make it possible to change the app language instead of following the system if you do. Plenty of apps have faulty ‘translations’ that just make the app unusable. Especially because app text typically has no context, so you get these weird literal translations.
Enjoy finding a literal english translation that corresponds to something I may want to do in your app!
