I’m looking at going to a 500 / 250? (Might be 100 up) Plan for around 140 AUD per month, I’d much rather have symmetrical Gbit but that’s well put of my price range.
$200 USD is around $315 AUD currently, that’s a whole ballpark of fucked up.
It’s not so much how old - but how long the OEM (google) keeps bringing out updates for that platform (from memory)
Cables tend to go bad if they are being bent at the point where the connector sheath meets the cable.

Intel made some massive mistakes with their post 14nm nodes, they overextended and fell on their own sword.
Admittedly what Intel were aiming for with their “10nm” node had higher density than tsmc’s “7nm” (from memory), considering the timeframe that would have been another massive leap for Intel; and if they had pulled it off AMD would be struggling like the bulldozer days.
22nm to 14nm Intel were on fire, almost seemed untouchable for quite some time. X99 was (in my eyes) the biggest leap in the right direction and probably their best consumer platform ever released. Huge cache, moar cores, pcie lanes for days and a refresh on their latest node (6950x).

Agreed. When I was playing that game Bumble for me was a much more effective platform. Tinder is horrible, just a cesspool of low moral high ego monkeys.

Off topic but IPMI is such a handy feature. I’ve got an old x99 board with it, and man being able to remotely power cycle a frozen machine is missed. Even being able to change UEFI settings without having to drag out a monitor and keyboard.

I’m looking at moving to Graphene on my P7P but I don’t have the time to spend migrating my data and losing access to my digital only debit cards among other things.
My server among many other services is running immich for photos, Syncthing + Keepass for passwords but there are many more services I’ll need to spin-up to feel at ease leaving the Google ecosystem.
Even Tailscale I want to migrate to Headscale / Netbird. I’ll eventually get everything where I want it but there are only so many hours in the day, and so much coffee and ritalin I can consume before it’s two sleeps to Christmas.
It’s baffling even with something simple like a DNS ad blocker - the volume of communication from my partners Windows laptop, her iPhone and my Android phone being blocked with no loss of functionality. I don’t want to look at wireshark.
You’re worried about Google watching what videos you watch, presumably while signed into your Google account on an android phone?

I’ve got a “shitbox” VW Golf - the twin charger version, it’s only around 118kw. It’s not quick by any stretch of the imagination even with the bolt-on mods mine has so far.
I’d not like to imagine the levels of trouble I’d find myself in owning even a midrange EV. Being able to give an EV a ham sandwich and hit 100kph in ~5 seconds or less is absurd.
Yeah I can’t see a file / folder view on the new client. Not that I saw one on the old android client either.
Must admit the new app is more responsive than the old version on my P7P however having “new on XYZ” service that I don’t have is a shit addition to the new client.

I personally thought I’d miss parts of windows, but the consistent bombardment of bing search results when I wanted to search my computer for a filename, application or just fucking anything drove me to curbstomp all my windows installs.
That and the ever changing settings menus, having to delve through shit sandwiches to end up in an antiquated but familiar window to change a setting was a fucking nightmare.
Honestly, if there was a bit more KISS happening within windows I’d probably have not moved OS - but Microsoft’s never ending desire to change what really worked for so many years drove me to where I am.
You do you, I’m not here to convince anyone to migrate OS, but having some level of semblance and control - for me is such a relief. Probably some of the ASD + ADHD coming through but I’m sure there are many typical folks that feel the same way.
Are CTE the same as GGP?
Is Orca that resource intensive? I’m running it in a container with KasmVNC and have never really checked out the resource usage. Admittedly it’s on one of my local servers in another room. I guess it’s how large your projects are too.

Ensure you’ve allowed background usage and turn off manage app if unused.
Keep the notification on and allow notifications.
