Convenience really is what you buy with your data/attention in a lot of these cases.
Facebook makes it more convenient to keep in touch with people even though you could reach out and stay in touch via email.
Google maps makes it more convenient to navigate but clearly people used to be able to get along without it.
People are addicted to convenience and companies know that.
There definitely are. My partner has Netflix, Prime, Peacock, and the Disney plus bundle. I feel like it isn’t that uncommon of a scenario tbh.

If only one of you owns the house then that’s what they are. It’s obviously going to vary case by case but one person has a mortgage, and all the responsibilities that come with it, and the other can cut and run any time. It would be pretty unfair to the homeowner if the SO got all the benefits of renting and buying.
I didn’t say there weren’t any shops but the cheapest battery job is $60. I’m not even making a strawman argument you’re doing that. Lots of folks would save $30 if they could. Lots of folks are too busy or lazy to go to a shop. I’ve known lots of iPhone users who have failing batteries and they just suffer through an unreliable phone until they have money for a replacement. This would definitely help those people.
The argument that user replaceable batteries forces phones to be significantly bulkier or uglier is just unfounded, companies could easily engineer solutions that are both thin and look good. I had a Galaxy S5 that was waterproof and reasonably thin.
There are 0 shops near me that do a battery replacement for $10. Idk where you are going and are they giving you the replacement battery for free cause that usually costs around 30-50 dollars alone if you get a reputable one. Even after all that, the shop usually has to keep your phone for a few hours at least and people typically don’t have a backup or like to be completely offline for that long.

The most frustrating part of the pro office talking points for me is the line about meeting in person being easier. My team is spread across four states, I’m either on a zoom meeting at my house where there is always a quiet room from which to take a meeting at a comfortable desk. Or I’m in the office, an open office with hot desks where you can’t leave keyboards, mice, computers, etc overnight and you have to reserve a conference room to take a zoom meeting (all meetings). Now I’m wasting time setting up my desk every day, reserving rooms for all my meetings, kicking people out of the rooms I reserved. Huge loss of productivity for the Corp. I’m not staying late because you wasted so much of my time, I gotta hit the road to beat traffic.
