That word, I do not think it means what you think it means.
Don’t forget that they’re buddy buddy with amazon, and have even included amazon sourced ads within the OS at one point.
The Other Guys. At first glance, it’s a buddy cop comedy that harkens back to Lethal Weapon, but with humor typical to ~2010. But, the more you watch it, the more Zucker brothers esque, 1980s surrealist comedy influences you notice. One of the most subtly weird and funny movies to me, I’ve probably seen it, no lie, 10 or 15 times.
No. I daily a Galaxy S23. I really like it except for all of Samsungs preinstalled apps that can’t be deleted.
A couple months back, I bought a refurbished OnePlus 6T (2018) to mess around with Linux and de-Googled Android, and guess what, my phone which is 5 years newer feels virtually no different. It does have a better camera, granted, but personally that doesn’t effect me as I do any serious photography with a proper camera anyway (also, I have to acknowledge that the 6T is slower as it’s not really a flagship phone like the S23, but the 6T feels comparable quality and performance wise to some mid range 2024 phones I’ve used).
Bottom line, unless we see more Apple M-style chipsets in phones, imo, we’re at a plateau. You could get a $200 5 year old phone and be fine.
Rookie. Sneeze into the back of your knee, then we can talk
Oh 100% agreed. I think it was the Song of Susanahh especially that I thought could have been cut down by about 50%.
And yeah, it would definitely be nice for him to see his work faithfully adapted. I do selfishly hope he takes a backseat creatively though. He’s a phenomenal writer but a terrible filmmaker (imo).
Yeah that was a fever dream. On the bright side, Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House) is apparently the one in charge of a series coming in the next few years. So that should be pretty solid. Fingers crossed lol
Them reciting their mantra when they start shooting, or the shrieking they do when they throw the plates, just makes my skin crawl lol. I hope they omit those if they do an on screen adaptation.
Fyi you can add as many as you want to your favourites. And even without that, I found scrolling through with the alphabetical sidebar to be super fast. Definitely not for everyone tho
All I want on this Earth is a FOSS alternative to Niagara launcher. I love a simple icon/list launcher but Niagaras permission requirements are unsettling. Kvaesitso is great, and easily the most polished FOSS launcher I’ve used, but just doesn’t quite hit that mark for me. The closest I’ve found is Plasma Mobile, but I don’t feel like setting up halium just for a launcher.
Succumb to your temptations… skip dual booting and vms… nuke your Windows partition with Gentoo… you know you want to

They only mentioned it in passing once (afaik) in a blog post. These aren’t actual plans so much as a pipe dream I think
Pine64, the company that has made such excellent projects as the PinePhone, PineBook, and PineTime(open source hardware and software smartphone, laptop and smart watch), has stated that one of their dream projects would be an open source, hackable printer. There’s obviously a ton of logistics though and it will likely never materialize unless they really start making big bucks.
Everybody donate to Pine64 so they can get that open source printer off the ground someday.
Hey, it looks clean and functional. Just keep taking it one step at a time, and learn as much as you can.
I was on a GTX1080 for a long time. Nothing absolutely dealbreaking, but lots of small naggling issues that took lots of annoying troubleshooting to fix. Plus, abysmal DX12 performance (which is a limitation of the cards Pascal architecture as far as I know, not everyone experiences it but it’s common enough).
Switched to an RX 7600XT and wow. Night and day. Zero configuration, zero weird issues, games perform fantastic at high settings (CP2077 at 1440p/High settings across the board is a pretty stable 80+ FPS, compared to 50fps at low and medium and 1080p with the old card, even on Windows). Complete gamechanger.
That’s potentially my biggest issue woth Windows. You aren’t actually made to understand what went wrong. Linux will give you lots of information. It can be overwhelming if you’re just used to seeing “This app stopped working, wait or close it?”, but once you’re used to it, you realize that info usually give you all the tools you need to fix your problem.
Does it come with a 5 sided cookie with a hole in the middle?
