This isn’t as forward thinking as you’d want it to be.
For as much as they are abused, “IP laws” protect small and individual inventors, writers, composers, etc.
With no patent, copyright or trademark protections the billionaires will own or bury everything.
What is needed is to bring the laws back to their intended purpose.
Take the job if you need it. You’re not going to change their minds.
Clear your conscience by doing some pro bono work for a gender issues non-profit or small company that is LGBTQ+ friendly/owned—especially if they are a competitor to this company.
Gradually, ween yourself off this company.
You start to wonder, “when am I going to feel like an adult?”
The only thing keeping TSLA’s stock price so high is the perception that it’s a tech company. They’d have to replace Elon with another tech CEO that can spew bullshit about tech advances being right around the corner. That probably will not save it as a car company.
I’d rather see the company fail before Elon and other majority share holders can cash out.
It’s a measure of how much energy you can uselessly burn with other people’s money.
Because people already know the chant and it’s dead easy to follow along and learn.
It’s not the words themselves that are effective. It’s the number of people saying them together. Chanting and singing in unison has a very powerful effect on human psychology for both the chanters and people hearing it.
Walk into almost a church to witness this effect, watch soldiers doing drills, listen to cheers at a sporting event. People are stronger together, we feel that at a fundamental level. Hearing people making the same sounds communicates unanimous intent. That can be inspiring or intimidating, it doesn’t matter much what words they say.
And they’ll do so under the pretense of “will nobody think of the children” while prominent Brits have gotten away with raping kids practically in the open. They didn’t even need encryption, they had people willingly turning a blind eye.
Access can do (some) SQL! 😱
I’ve worked for US federal government, access to Access* was the only way I could do some things that wasn’t torture… severe torture.
*keep in mind that SQL is a query language. It can be implemented in different ways and not necessarily within an RDMS.
It would be one of the areas that would save the government a bunch of money. But, Ellison is in the Trump camp so it’s not going to happen.
When Elon was in his early teens, that word was a common pejorative.
If you look at Elon and interpret his behavior as if he was 13, it all makes a lot more sense.
Elon and DOGE should really look into all of those Oracle contracts the Fed pays for. Must be all inefficiency and fraud.
To nitpick, Census data is heavily queried. They use Oracle now, I believe.
Sure but they’re not going to fire all of them. They’re going to fire 90% then make 10% put out the fires and patch the leaks while working twice as many hours for less pay.
The company will gradually get worse and worse until bankrupt or sold and the c-suite bails with their golden parachutes.
With that hair he could pass for a hobbit.

Funny enough, it’s all content moderators and fact checkers.
Cool. But, where the tinsel?
Dunkin’ Donuts used to make the donuts right there in the store multiple times a day. True story.
Eye contact is basic human communication of “I’m cool with you.” Don’t rely on it to express romantic interest. Avoiding eye contact can express a lot of things, most of them negative. Sure, you can express more with a look but it can come off creepy if you don’t have a rapport with that person.
Make eye contact when talking to or listening to all people you like. That’s just basic social interaction. If you’re interested in someone romantically, tell them—ask them out.
There’s no secret handshake or look. Talk to them.
I think it’s a myth that the Mormon’s own a significant share of that company.
