Yep, I bought a Pixel last year because I got drawn in by the bells and whistles, and it started exhibiting the common screen issue a few months back that the 8 tends to get. I literally just got around to RMAing it today because my 6-year-old 6T is just so solid that I didn’t really miss it.

This isn’t true at all. The general legal consensus is that foreign nationals are entitled to virtually the same rights as US citizens while on US soil.

macOS 10.14 has been EOL for more than 2 years now and basically every Mac released since 2012 is compatible with 10.15. Valve also didn’t actively flip a switch and disable functionality; they’re just no longer providing updates. I don’t think Valve shoulders any blame in this specific case - it’s unreasonable to expect any company to indefinitely support platforms that are effectively obsolete.

I think you’ve got it backwards. I learned to read pointer decls from right-to-left, so const int * is a (mutable) pointer to an int which is const while int *const is a const pointer to a (mutable) int.

Their black coffee isn’t great, but their espresso is good which is what makes it into the sugary drinks. I think the main draw is that it’s pretty consistently decent, while with other chains like Dunkin or Wawa you’re never quite sure what you’re going to get but it’s probably not going to be that good. I’ll also add that the coffee they sell at grocery stores isn’t bad (although it’s far from my favorite). I think it’s much worse at Starbucks itself because it inevitably ends up burnt pretty shortly after it’s brewed.

As far as price, it costs $2 because that’s the price that Starbucks determined maximizes profit. From what I’ve seen at other coffee shops though including Mom and Pop ones, that price point is pretty typical.

I think you’re seriously overestimating the number of people who would actually benefit from that ease of use.

The Moscow Times is actually now headquartered in Amsterdam and has been banned in Russia. I wouldn’t exactly consider it to have a pro-Russian bias.

I think the trouble with the conclusion you’re drawing is that it enables one to make sweeping statements about Muslims on the whole while maintaining plausible deniability in claiming that they’re only referring to “the bad ones.” In other words, sort of an inverse “No True Scotsman” fallacy.

Furthermore, I would wager that most people you’re referring to as “ex-Muslim” would still very much consider themselves to be Muslim, and even though you’re explicitly not addressing them in your claims, it’s not a huge leap that someone acting in worse faith would use your rationale as an excuse to generalize the entire demographic (including the so-called “ex-Muslims”).

I think this is overselling it a little. I still run into issues with Proton from time to time that require sigkilling it and its children, and some games (especially EA titles) are finnicky and can take a few tries to launch properly.

As for VR, SteamVR on Linux outright sucks. It virtually never works the first time I launch it and requires some combination of reconnecting hardware and restarting software and the computer, and it’s plagued with bugs (most recently the UI rendering upside down in the new beta).

Don’t get me wrong, Linux has been my primary platform for some 5 years and my only one for the last few and I’d never dream of going back to Windows, and gaming on Linux has progressed unbelievably in the time I’ve been daily-driving it. But it still isn’t totally painless and there’s definitely more room for improvement in the coming years.
