It’s chilling to listen to how the members are thoroughly abused, controlled and forced to become husks of themselves.
It’s also pretty great at giving stars to home brew monsters, or making variations of regular monsters.

You’re not wrong. One spy is better than 1+x spies, especially if that one spy is well controlled with regulation. Better than bad is still not necessarily good.

I usually use Firefox, but sometimes a website won’t work on it, for example so web apps like Adobe Express just refuse to work. In these cases I use Edge, not Chrome anymore. Between the two, Edge has better privacy and has some really nice features. It also works better with my work stuff thanks to integration with 365.
What I’m going with this is that there’s definitely a user base for Edge. Between it and Chrome, I’d go with Edge any day. Firefox still beats both though.
It’s not just that they don’t want their ads next nazi crap, it’s that they don’t want to put ads on a platform that has nazi crap. You make a platform friendly to nazis, you lose advertising.
Just as a comment, not a suggestion: a society that squeezes its people has to either repress them hard, or at some point expect it to start boiling over. The mob lynching the leaders is what happens once the mob gets desperate enough and are not heard.
