GDPR is a good goal, but the implementation is hell. There has to be a way to make well intentioned policies not turn into the nightmare fuel that it inevitably always turns into.

It’s Ok for small shops that do local projects. When you start working on large commercial projects you have 4-5 teams (architects, landscape architects, structural engineers, civil engineers, irrigation consultants) with each team involving 7-12 people then the pipeline gets complicated fast. Standardization is the only way to get projects out the door in a timely manner. We’re already struggling with in-house autodesk products that already struggle to talk to each other bc autodesk sucks haha
It’s not streamlined, fast, or integrated well with other platforms/programs. Most of all, our adjacent consultants need to work in dwg. The whole industry pipeline is built around Autodesk products unfortunately and they own the market
Haha I would love to. But I would have to get all my teams - and there are many - to switch. I also tried FreeCAD. It’s OK for hobbyists but it’s unusable for architecture… C’est la vie
I want to ditch windows so bad, but I can’t run any autodesk products on Linux atm… Revit, Autocad… Sad noises
Yea. They haven’t come out with anything groundbreaking in a long time and the reputation of the build quality is catching up. The last stint was that dumb taxi concept. My erection is only half chub right now but there’s still hope.
Stop. I can only get erect so much.
This is good news overall but Denmark is just a population of 6 million. Let’s hope the trend continues elsewhere
They seem to like cars a lot. Remember when there was a car shortage because chip manufacturing froze during Covid?
It’s a typical IRA but catered to self employed individuals
There is also SEP IRA
Don’t have kids
Is only genocide if ICC OK…
I thought this movie was received well? It’s such a beautiful film that lingers with you for a while after. And the cinematography is superb
I will give massive props to Riddley for taking a big risk and pushing into a new direction. I suspect massive meddling by the studios. Prometheus had a lot of interesting concepts that just never got a chance to be fleshed out fully. My guess Covenant was going to be the response to that but something happened between the two movies because Covenant is completely divorced thematically and story wise from Prometheus. I’m sorry Riddley never got a chance to live out this interesting new universe.
I think that’s what RS was trying to do with the franchise by taking it in a new direction. He’s a risk taker and always wants to try something new so I applaud him for an least trying with Prometheus despite the flat execution. Oh well
Alien Romulus
This movie seems to get a lot of love for some reason. I understand the bar was set really low by Prometheus and Covenant but that’s not an excuse.
Romulus is just a collection of greatest hits from all the previous movies. None of the beats were new or original. Not a single protagonist or element added to the story in a meaningful way. None of the main characters are memorable in the slightest (compare to the phenomenal characters in Alien or Aliens). It was just so…bland
Nothing wrong with metaphors… Until they are so dull and ridiculous as if thought up by a sixth grader doing a lit assignment. Snowpiercer is that. That’s all it is. There is nothing profound on insightful or interesting or new. That’s all it is: the embodiment of a really dull metaphor. Just my opinion of course.
I like Darktable but found RawTherapee to be more usable. For me Darktable 4 was way too many clicks for what should be a one click - everywhere. But it is very powerful. Just the ui gave me headache
It my personal experience I found it all extremely convoluted… And I like gdpr
