I’ve been reading through some of your blog articles, and I wanted to ask if there are any other platforms you’re active on? I wanted to have a more in depth conversation but lemmy might not be the best place for that. I still think that some extrapolations of the theory need work, but the core is pretty solid and fairly in line with my beliefs. Would definitely be interested in getting more context to better inform my path in life going forward.

Unprocessed palm oil. Not the stuff you get in stores that looks like a regular vegetable oil. The red stuff that solidifies but has a low melting point.
Fair enough, me and my family been going through a lot of that recently and while I think it’ll be worthwhile in the end, the process is quite hellish. No pain no gain I guess.

I remember reading a blog post (I think from them) that said they didn’t mind a KDE version. The one caveat is that it had to be as feature complete and polished as the GNOME version with a full suite of modern QT/KDE apps to replace the GTK ones. Considering the core team are pretty much all GTK devs (some with their own apps) it seems pretty unlikely unless a community team that really likes KDE and the vanillaos concept forms.

I just fundamentally disagree, after watching hundreds of anime and just lots of media in general, there is definitely tropes and excessive repetition of stuff, but the specific tropes referenced here are objectively not prevalent in every genre of anime. Perhaps Isekai and high school slice of life romance but not super prevalent outside of that. And most newer or older anime don’t have it either, there was a very short band of time where what he mentioned was prevalent.
As much as I agree with saying that for Naruto, hard disagree on One Piece, that is one of the best series ever made at least in my opinion. Why do you think One Piece does the same thing over and over again, the story and world have evolved so much I find that hard to believe.
It’s crazy how all you described was just a subsection of anime, specifically slice of life high school romance animes and then expanded that to everything else. I mean even calling anime a genre is weird since it’s just animated content with a specific range of art styles, the story can be anything. The simping and sexualization is definitely an issue but that comes with anything that is a entertainment. Could I ask you what you consume nowadays aside from anime? I’m curious since I wanna know the gap you perceive between that and anime in general.

If you like the older windows ui, Linux mint. You don’t need to look any further than that. If you want something fresh and cool, use regular fedora with gnome, if you want a more mac like or windows 11 experience use fedora kde. That’s all you need to know.
Some YouTubers will go and adopt a child and then vlog about their lives with said kid for views. It’s sad.
Assuming I’m not mistaken about how cartilage feels to eat, I’d say neither but closer to cartilage. It’s really chewy and hard to sink your teeth into to. Honestly it’s kinda like eating gum but with a meat taste. The smell is not great though and often overpowers a lot of food without lots of preparation. Honestly kinda hate tripe overall.
I’m really not seeing the logic here, so called “feelings” are scientific facts and we do studies on them all the time. Is hunger not a feeling? Same thing with self-representation. Those aren’t nebulous concepts. Those are well-established scientific facts. Gender is an important part of self-representation and from all indications, one people have very little control over.
But that’s just not how merit works, things that work better and are better often don’t win out. Not because they are bad but because other things spread faster. The best organism is not the the longest lived one, but the one that reproduces faster.
As others have said flatpak is not just the future, it is the present of Linux. Many mainline distros have fully adopted it and many smaller community distros, especially immutable ones like blendos and vanillaos, are all in on flatpak completely abandoning native packages for containers and flatpaks. I’d say for the average non-technical user, using Flathub through gnome software or discover is as good or better than the mac AppStore. The future of apps on Linux is very bright imo. Flatpaks have already brought in way more developers than before.
