Imagine your whole life consists of thousands if not millions of people saying you are good looking. Suddenly, age takes it’s toll and now it’s only hundreds. Now the dopamine flow (a lot of) people get from admiration, is dwindling . I bet basically investing a lot of your stat points into appearance ( by luck and genes), now withering away, makes you way more determined, trying to reverse that process. Especially if you have no skill to fall back on which could outweigh your appearance “effect” but will still keep generating adoration/respect/interest by people.

Fucking prions. When I first learned about them in high school they really made me freak out. They are like the new game+ final boss of things fucking with things. Like how can they even infect other things, fucking mangled and misfolded looking ass, fuck them!
