I still don’t think that one was actually the EU’s doing. Macs got USB C before most PCs, iPads had it for a long time before iPhones, and iPhones switched over 10 years after Apple announced lightning saying it would be their connector “for the next decade”
I’m an iOS developer and pretty heavily bought into Apple’s ecosystem and I thought it was really weird for Apple to be advertising all these features that weren’t even in beta yet.
It was false advertising and I expect better from Apple.
I believe these are sharp’s memory in pixel lcds. They’re much lower power than something like the game boy screen as each pixel retains its state and doesn’t need to be refreshed from the controller constantly. I actually like these little screens quite a lot. Worse pixel density and don’t look as good as e-ink when static, but still really Low power and can refresh way faster and smoother when needed.
My friend got a dozen or more marriage proposals in Egypt, some including pretty sizable dowries—which really did not help as much as the people offering the proposals wanted. I’m guessing the only reason she wasn’t followed like this was due to the presence of her family
To add onto this. I did a rough estimate (hopefully I did it correctly) and assuming one billion ice vehicles as OP stated, if you scattered them evenly across the surface of the earth there would be about 25 miles separating each car. While I believe ice cars are quite damaging, it’s not hard to think it would be okay with that in mind.
Jealous. I have a 2011 prht and it’s amazing and a much better car in a lot of respects, but NA Miatas are just the best.
Swift also handles everything at compile time, using automatic reference counting. It is also in general faster then c++ in the benchmarking I’ve done for work where we are considering incrementally replacing c++ with it. (Benchmarking was focused on very language-standard code, NOT hand-optimized code focusing on getting every last ounce of speed out).
I hope this comes off the way I want it to: remember this is about you. You sound like the sort of person who is always putting others first, which is an admirable quality, but this is all about you—everyone who cares about you will immediately recognize that.
Don’t waste your energy trying to protect anyone else’s feelings. The best thing you can do for your loved ones is tell them as soon as you can (even if that means just being super blunt about it) and focusing your energy on your plan to maximize health/minimize pain, which they can all help you with.
You’re right that it doesn’t mean cash on hand, but it does indicate they could liquidate some of that or borrow against it themselves.
SHOUTING_SNAKE_CASE aka SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE is the best case for all use cases, because it gives you a chance to use its wonderful names.
To me, having a strong opinion means I have thought about the problem space enough to understand what I believe are the important aspects and what optimizes them. Remembering to hold them weakly in the light of previously unconsidered or under appreciated arguments prevents me from becoming overly rigid.
Make it work, then make it work right.

It’s certainly not moving as fast as their promises (what ever does), and perhaps has slowed, but for me at least it’s too early to call a plateau. Perhaps someone who works in the field or follows more closely can provide a better characterization, though.
I’m sitting here really hoping that models hit a plateau in capabilities soon. Continuing to get smaller/more efficient would be great, but if the capabilities of our best models would plateau for a bit and give society time to adjust to the impact I would be very happy.
Maybe the real origin of the Borg were the nanobots we made along the way?
