Yeah up until then I though he was a cool guy; real life iron man and whatnot. That baseless accusation was just so incredibly out of character it made me question his character, and then his later actions made me realize it was always just a character.
He’s levying tithes.
+1 on wildcard addresses. Any 10 min mail site is also great for anything unimportant.
It’s important in the sense that if it’s “just gang shit” then people think it’s less random, and so they have some agency to avoid it, which makes it less scary. They’re also not in social groups even close to gangs, so it’s not something that would ever happen to them.
IIRC it doesn’t do anything prevent tooth decay, it just doesn’t cause it, unlike sugar and many other sugar substitutes.
Yay! Been waiting patiently.
I just had to book a flight.
Frontier forces you to download an app now to check in (there is a well hidden option to do it on web, but the page never loads on laptop nor mobile in multiple browsers).
I tried to rent a parking spot, and 2/4 places would not load quotes at all (again web and mobile and multiple browsers). I probably would’ve used one of the two that didn’t load if their sites had worked. Their loss I guess.
I’d just like it to not feel like each interaction I have with technology, and I guess by extension the world, is becoming increasingly adversarial. The tech itself seems to keep getting better though.
Amazing to see Hot Wheels change from gas to hybrid to EV over the years.
Fun fact: decibels are exponential; A 180 db sound would be the loudest thing ever recorded (the krakatoa volcano was 172) and after 194 db it ceases to be sound and becomes a shockwave.
.world and .ml are servers. I’d recommend choosing a server related to your topic (programming.zone if it’s comp sci related, for example), and try to avoid piling into the largest ones (.world and .ml, etc.).
Do you mean abominations? lol.
A more powerful local transmission may be considered jamming. I’m not sure, so look up relevant law beforehand.
FYI for those reading this, it is just an image of the unopened mail. They don’t open it for you. You see who it’s from and when it is supposed to arrive.
Also isn’t LoRa proprietary/patent encumbered?
They paused funding for all of the exciting P2P and low bandwidth stuff last year. Hopefully it resumes soon, as mentioned in the GitHub thread.

Meanwhile, P2P Matrix and Low Bandwidth Matrix is on hiatus until there’s dedicated funding - and Account Portability work is also temporarily paused in favour of commercial Element work, despite the fantastic progress made recently with Pseudo IDs (MSC4014) and Cryptographic identifiers (MSC4080). Given P2P Matrix and Account Portability were the main projects driving Dendrite development recently, this may also cause a slow-down in Dendrite development, although Dendrite itself will still be maintained.
I’m still sad they stopped work on dendrite. P2P level decentralization, with E2EE, would be amazing.
These are still great improvements though. I’m hyped that loading seems to be so much faster.
Fair. I just learned about and like PeerTube so far (activitypub federated video hosting), but it’s has even more infantile adoption than Lemmy does. I don’t know that anyone I follow on youtube posts there, and if they do I don’t know how to find them.
If a hypothesis is untestable, then it is a guess, and not scientific.
