I’ve used the same cables for years with no problem. You don’t yank them out of ports using the strand, you don’t stress the connectors by winding tightly or making them bend at sharp angles and just treat them with care.
Yeah….also curious. It’s been a couple of years but when I previously bought stuff from Monoprice it was a smoking deal and I’m pretty certain none of the cables I bought ever failed me.
I heard it was one of those emergency exit panels (not a full door, nor just a passenger window) but that could be inaccurate. Either way, not a good look for Boeing.

Was closing in on 14 years in Sept. nuked my account. F em. Hell I even paid for Premium despite using Apollo because I wanted to pay my share. How they treated users and admins let alone app developers was beyond the pale, I couldn’t support it by staying.

Ugh that sucks. I can only guess that it was an oversight but you’re absolutely right to be bothered. As you suggest, likely a moment of “get this bag out of the way”. Still upsetting for sure.
While it was thankfully brief I also was part of end of life care for my Dad and despite the anguish I took great comfort from knowing his last hours were with loved ones nearby and in his own bed. I wish that the knowledge you were there and helped brings you solace in your grief. You were there when it mattered most. hug I wish you and your family peace.
First off I’m terribly sorry for your loss. While I am by no means a paramedic I took first aid classes from one and this very subject came up (what to do with used PPE and such after an incident). We were told to just leave it pending hazmat-trained folks responding for cleanup. At a patient’s home it’s left and frankly not their responsibility - the patient alone is.
Sucks but they will indeed leave stuff behind - I wish it had been a better outcome for your family but I assure you they meant no offense or harm.
14 years in September. I’ve seen stuff come and go but the manner in which this happened was not due to a better (yet) option or technology moving on rather the worst elements of corporate cynicism. Ignoring, completely, that not just content but the very functioning of the site is due to users. The same users that are now motivated to find the next thing as has happened so often before.
They’ll stumble along for a while, maybe even with decent financial results…but it’s a shuffling corpse ultimately and seeing paths taking shape have made it easier to accept.
Man I don’t know…I wouldn’t bail, maybe it is solely a living, but consider if you’re being seen as a paycheck and nothing more.
I guess be up front and say you’re conflicted and see the response. No reason not to enjoy dinner and a chat. Maybe a one-off and an anecdote or maybe more. Good luck either way.
