Looks like Google has a relatively complete guide there. It sounds like they expect you to “own” your kid’s account with their Family Link feature before adding the school account, not sure if that’s required for this to work or not. But it doesn’t seem like a bad idea.

That’s pretty shitty. They’re probably talking internally about the fuse as if it’s some type of tamper seal. But fuses blow sometimes, they’re literally sacrificial. So somebody has told their support techs that anyone with that fuse blown has tampered with their battery and they’re just repeating that line to customers (some guilt of tampering, some innocent).

Or maybe you just got unlucky with a dumb support tech. If that’s widespread, they deserve to get sued.

Uhhhh I don’t know about y’all but I got one Windows license for free back in college, and I’ve upgraded that one ever since to newer versions of 8, 10, and 11 for free. Oh yeah, and I actually scammed a second license out of that one, I just held on to my old Win7 drive for a few years, then booted it up in a new system one day and associated it with a different MS account, and upgraded it all the way to 10. The upgrade process gave me a second Windows key apparently, so I got two licenses for zero dollars.

And that’s not even mentioning the $5 OEM licenses that you can get online… Also, you know you don’t NEED a Windows license, right? You can leave Windows deactivated indefinitely, the only downside is that “please activate Windows” shame text on your desktop (which you can get rid of with a registry edit).

There are websites that already do this; it’s not theoretical. The website just doesn’t work if it detects an adblocker.

MOST flagship Android phones 10 years ago were small and had removable batteries. The Galaxy S5 was the last flagship from Samsung to do it, to name one.

Your logic is flawed. Phones have only gotten BIGGER as removable batteries have been phased out. Nearly every phone today is huge, and hardly any have removable batteries.

The Galaxy S series had removable batteries until the S6 dropped the feature. And the S5 was IP67 rated. Small, waterproof phones with big, removable batteries are entirely possible. You’re just falling for the propaganda.

What’s the practical alternative to headphone jacks? Bluetooth is crap and carrying around extra dongles is annoying.

How old are you? Small phones with replacement batteries have always existed. Batteries being removable has nothing to do with size, that’s industry propaganda.

If anything, phones have gotten BIGGER as batteries became non-removable. But that’s just because people buy big phones more.
