  • I feel u. This is all fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) which is actively disseminated by bad faith actors trying to weaken the country from within. A culture which fears itself is ineffective. Keeping in mind that we are all apart of the same culture whether we like it or not, it is important that the energy u project back into the culture at large be one of love, kindness, good-nature, and trust.

A lot of the youth saying these things u bring up are convinced that this it, the revolution theyve been hearing about and that there is no other way but to feed into the bull. Good on u to push back, and do ur best to not give into the negative emotions projected but to put back in something more constructive.

If the revolution were to truly happen, it will not be fought with guns, but by holding our surplus value hostage. We cannot defeat a militarized police or surveillance state govt via violence, but we can via economic warfare- and in that sort of conflict, love, kindness, good-nature, trust- solidarity- will be indisposable and key to not only winning, but surviving out right as well.

  • Fascinating… this is what i feel this thread had happen. Some of these comment chains had tankies downvoted and sanity upvoted by 3+ margins that mysteriously flipped to 6 point margins the other way within only 3 hrs. And the sheer amount of comments on here ballooned as well. I know they follow some of us around. They can claim theyre arguing one thing or the other, but its always to spread FUD and push non-voting or third party voting in the states. Its all about fucking up our election to install our own shitty dictator before our demographics in the country shift so hard the gop never get a chance to take the oval office ever again.

If u point that out ahead of time, tho, they mass downvote u and act like ur a conspiracy theorist.

  • I do know they like to follow me…

Eta: its funny how often the threads they brigade start off with the common shill thoughts getting downvoted and actual leftist thought upvoted only for it to shift as the threads pick up steam. Im not convinced its possible to win this fight, if im honest.

Also, note the sheer absurd amount of comments in this thread for something with (atm) 338 points. They always do this and act like its not happening.

  • That first sentence is what I love about Linux bros. For all the supposed gatekeeping and pretentiousness that goes on in these circles, i find this to be much more representative of my experience. As i said elsewhere in the thread, im really not very well versed in all that Linux is/can be. And yet, somehow someway, ive never really felt put down for it when seeking help.

Before this comment, i honestly didnt know there could be such preferences to ur package managers.

  • You can have genocide in Gaza, or you can have genocide in Gaza and (“stepping-stone”) Ukraine. Its an unfortunate choice, but an important one nonetheless. If im harping on a moot point to you bc you already know this, rest assured i say this for all other readers as well. Your votes down ballot are also extremely valuable. This primary there was a referendum in my county that I was in favor of that passed by less than 100 votes.

  • Yeah… actually. I know, craziness. But its true. Everyone drinks from the wrong cup of kool aid at the party eventually. We need to have empathy and sympathy for those led astray.

That was answering the first question, anyway. For the second, id say a resound, “fuck no!” but that unfortunately doesnt negate the answer to the first question :(
