I’ve always found this subject fascinating. Why are we all so different in this regards? What’s going or not going on up there? Anyway, this is my result…
I imagined a bright red ball, like a shiny red plasticy looking ball
The “person” pushing the ball was just a disembodied arm, the ball rolled and bounced around the pool table much as a pool ball would
The arm was pretty much my arm. I didn’t bother to visualise the person, instead concentrating on the interaction with the ball.
The ball was larger than a pool ball, maybe softball sized or even slightly bigger
The table was basically a pool table, green felt, but smaller or maybe the ball was just much bigger
All this I knew from my visualisation but when answering the questions I probably solidified my thoughts a bit. When viewing things they are constantly changing or shifting to match new information/ideas/concepts of what’s there. I don’t really see the whole scene at once easily, instead focusing in on different aspects of it. For example if I’m concentrating on the red, shiny ball then the table is just a green plane/background.
Most concerts I’ve been to that have required travel outside of my home city have been 1000km away and I always fly. This has probably been about 10 times all up, 4 of which were festivals with multiple bands I wanted to see. I have yet to travel to another country for a concert but for a very few specific bands that’s not out of the question. There’s probably only a couple of bands that haven’t toured here yet that would actually be that tempting.
Find your local makerspace! You will be super useful to people and able to help them out with your woodworking and computer skills, you will learn new skills adjacent to those hobbies from others and you can bake some treats to take along that will win you instant fans! Also, makerspaces attract people of a wide range of ages and backgrounds that will share many of your interests! It’s a win-win-win!
I just blocked and hit refresh and BAM the comment section improved 1000%! Looking forward to never seeing any posts by this person again!
Sorry but I just… DOB Septembuary 3st. It goes 1st, 2st, 3st, 4st, 5st or first, secost, thist, fourst, fifst etc…
THIS! A million times this!! It’s literally implying the opposite of their intent in that you have to have someone else HELP YOU because you OBVIOUSLY can’t pull yourself up by your own bootstraps!
One way to use this phrase correctly would be “No one can pull themselves up by their own bootstraps, we all need some help along the way.”!
Yikes, after reading that thread in its entirety I unsubbed from their channel. They will have to do a LOT to get me to ever come back. I’m not sure if that’s even possible?
There’s no setting to change that behavior that I can see but it’s clear that there could be a setting for it.
I’m on desktop at the mo but I just loaded up wefwef.app in Chrome and it shows a little smiley/emoji with a percentage beside it. I upvoted this post and it stayed on 100%, I downvoted and it changed to 91%.
Yeah, it’s amazing how quickly things have improved amid a massive influx of new users! Truly impressive!
Okay, so I just tried clicking subscribe pending on several subs and clicking subscribe again and it did NOT update to joined on any of them. BUT it did update to joined if I did that and then REFRESHED the page!? So, just a bug.
So in summary, if you click subscribe pending to unsub, then click subscribe again to sub and then refresh the page and you should be joined for real! No more yellow, am I on some kind of trial, subscribe pending yellow button of paranoia!
Must be a bug. I was “subcribe pending” on a community on the instance I’m actually on?! So I clicked the “subcribe pending” button and then clicked subscribe again and it updated to joined immediately!
But I hadn’t subbed to this community yet so I tried clicking subscribe and it said subscribe pending. I clicked it off and on again but it still says subscribe pending. I’ll try again later.
I used OpenOffice then switched to LibreOffice in recent years. I also use Word and occasionally BBEdit but mostly stick with OpenOffice for as I only need simple text editing, basic tables etc Edit: to add that I also use Google Docs and Google Keep when I want something quick and dirty that’s going to later be available anywhere I might possibly need to access it
Wow, the delay is real LOL I replied from Mastodon but it hasn’t shown up here so I’m replying from vger.app and will see what gets here from where and when :-D It’s cool that it’s possible though, even if it’s not super practical.
EDIT to say that this comment showed up on Mastodon basically immediately but my Mastodon comment still hasn’t shown up here 1-2 hours later?! Weird??
