Yes, and my partner notices it too. Slow loading, janky searches (sometimes search comes up with no results??), posts that show a mass of “deleted” comments, votes not getting logged (if you refresh the page, they’re gone). I’m American on mobile browser.

Have you tried logging in on desktop Lemmy and finding the delete option? I started a community way back and remember deleting it that way.

Plus, a lot of people browse the “All” feed and may subscribe when they see an interest.

Might be more straightforward if you’re using a Lemmy app. For mine (Voyager), I just go to the community and there’s a search bar at the top.

Hello! I’m not a techie person. I’m just imagining it and thinking it would be a lot of clutter.

Maybe the individual team communities would tolerate that level of clutter, since ppl are fanatics and want to read everything about their favorite sports teams (me lol)

I’m particularly fond of Belgian beers and my partner is fond of German beers. They’re of course not as good in America as the real thing, but there are definitely some solid options. In fact that’s what I will say is nice about American beers: you can find something decent of any style of beer you can imagine, and some truly excellent ones in a handful of styles as you mentioned already.

Yeah I’ve always believed in tactile feedback for driving safety. Which is why I love my Jeep Wrangler without the fancy features. Analog dash, keyed ignition, manual locks, windows, seats. Dials, knobs, handshift. I only have the backup camera since it became required lol

Yeah I agree the home feed sucks now, for chronological purposes. It used to be better. But what I do is I favorite (star?) close friends/family so that it gives me a notification whenever they post something. For everyone else, I might miss their updates especially since I don’t spend forever on there…

For me, it’s nice to share information and have light, friendly interactions. I don’t care for engaging in online conflicts or debates. That kind of stuff adds unnecessary stress to my life that I don’t want.

As far as SM with my real identity, like IG: It’s nice updating friends and family about life events. Sometimes I post silly things. Stuff like engagement doesn’t bother me bc it’s not about having a popularity contest.

But in particular, I like posting highlights as they happen throughout the year. My memory (for dates, especially!) isn’t that great, so this lets me scroll through in chronological order and quickly see what I’ve been up to. It’s sort of like keeping a picture diary.
