  • Have read the thread, since I am currently considering replacing my dinosaur Samsung S5. It still works like a charm and I have zero issue with it doing what I need it to do. I long ago unlocked and rooted it. I was starting to feel like replacing it may be wise before it should suddenly not work out of the blue since it’s so old.

My question is: should I be moving on to iPhone if these sort of issue with newer Androids are going to make them more difficult to use as I want? or do iPhones have the same problems? Forgive my ignorance since I know nothing about iPhones. I am just curious.

  • As a gamer, I have invested a fair amount into my computer system. This in turn has made me pretty much a dust hater because it’s a huge enemy to the life of a good computer. I am careful to keep it off the floor, and try to keep dust in the house to a minimum, which is kind of annoyingly difficult sometimes especially in summer when I like to have open windows to enjoy fresh air and find that every neighbor within 10 miles is busy doing remodeling, or mowing the lawn, or chopping whatever… Sometimes I can dust at 10 am on Sunday and at 6 am on Monday it looks like I didn’t do it at all…arrrg! I mostly use microfiber cloth with mist cleaner, and running a small air purifier in the house does help me keep it down to manageable levels most of the time.

  • I am a program manager at a non profit that helps older adults. I have been working this morning on our annual report since fiscal just closed for 2022-23. I was astonished to see we somehow managed to serve over 500 seniors this year, a record for our small program.

It might seem like nothing, but my department has been literally me and just one part time person in the office for years. We finally got another ft help in December, and it really made a difference. I do manage several vendors that work in the field and a group of volunteers on top of that, so it’s pretty hectic. I used to be one of those people who never wanted to step into management because I love client facing work and hate the admin side of things, but I am really proud we did so much this year! We even managed to do it while losing our office space to a fire last fall, so all together we accomplished a lot. Feels good. 🥰
