Nobody has to pay for anything Lemmy or ActivityPub related because its FOSS.
That means Free Open Source Software.
As in, you can get and use the source code yourself without paying a single cent.

AWOO gimme the wolf
Those alternatives are old tech that has way more limitations than a neural implant.
Just because there is old tech that SORT OF does this, doesn’t mean it can’t be improved. That’s the same attitude behind “not needing more than 4mb of RAM” back in the day. You can’t stop progress all because YOU are fine with the current state of the tech.
Based on your reaction, I’d hate to hear your opinion on AI. Let me guess, its corpo data theft and only data theft?
What about the multitude of FOSS projects that even you could use if you wanted?
Natural Harvest
or something like that I think
Don’t think I’ve ever seen one before.
I swear I’ve had stuff with stripped screws right from the store.
Have fiber to home here in Arkansas in the US
Would love to be able to take a sleeper train to the border with Canada, then have one of my friends from Toronto pick me up so I can visit them.
You had me at heated seat. Fucker’s cold this time of year. Feel like I’m going to get my ass stuck to it.
On android, I use Seal. Its basically a frontend for yt-dlp and has a sponsor block feature.
Yes, from the book Ignition! by John Clark. Also quoted by Derek Lowe in an entry of his “Things I Won’t Work With” articles.
Chlorine Trifluoride is a better oxidizer than Oxygen itself. Hell, the germans in WW2 tried making self igniting flamethrowers with the stuff. But stopped because it was too nasty to work with.
At that point, they might as well just spray it directly on people. Screw using a fuel to ignite when the trifluoride is enough to set fire to literally anything. Even wet sand can be burnt by it.
For the main systems, sure. But non critical systems can pretty much run nearly anything.
Probably try a raspberry pi one. Custom built and with a custom OS. Not sure if there is a version of Lineage or Graphene that works on it, but that’s an option.
I started noticing how sometimes youtube just seemingly refused to load fully on my phone. I thought it was just my crap internet. But since I use Iceraven, a fork of firefox, it seems that may be why.
Had some windows users loving the Cinnamon DE on Mint. They managed to get right into it straight away. Plus, on most Linux distros they come with easy to use package managers. And you can still get deb or rpm packages that can be used to install applications just like a windows installer exe.
