  • interesting. its not just about the moon:

“LuGRE’s groundbreaking success opens the door for future NASA Artemis missions and other space explorations to use GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) signals. This means they can accurately figure out their position, speed, and time without human help. It’s a huge leap forward for navigation systems on the Moon and Mars!”

this should be pretty huge. think about the various failed landings and such you have seen in the news.:

“Traditionally, NASA engineers use a combination of onboard sensors and Earth-based tracking signals to track spacecraft. LuGRE’s demonstration shows that GNSS signals can autonomously aid navigation, even at the Moon’s distance.”

so this really changes space exploration as or more significant to the reusable rocket stages.

  • I get what you mean because I was the same way. I prefered a folder structure but I recently came around. Thing is that you don’t need to remember all tags. It will just help it narrow the field in a search but everything tagged health will be in the health bucket (folder) and everything in bank is in bank. if you filter for everything in bank and health you will get a smaller return to find what you want so basically remember more tags will help you find the item but just remembering a few will be good enough.

  • My older brother is like that for boomers. He is a really young boomer. Its actually pretty telling how different his life is from the older boomers and how different it is for me as an Xer and how different I see it for younger folks. Basically the farther you go the better but you want to be born after the great depression. Even earlier aint bad. It sucked as a kid but as long as the postwar boom happens by like 16 its all better and better going forward. Except for the whole draft thing. In some ways it would be great where the draft was officially called off when you turned 17 so you lost the stress of the draft. You would have lost a lot of the largess but you could just squeeze into the point in time where a college degree was a bit optional for leading a decent life.
