I’m not sure, but it does say that companies must delete it within 3 years of the last time they do business with you.

These are connected medical devices like insulin pumps
Illinois has a law against collecting biometric data.
they’re going to cut taxes for the wealthy and make us pay more so that they can grift it back into their own hands.
Remember when our biggest fear was killer bees? What a quaint time in our history.
There’s x86 socs. You can buy a linux tablet right now.
I have a couple. One of them will lose https about once a month, tgen a day or two later it will work again, sometimes after a apt update/upgrade.
I think there’s a lot of people who want an instance but feel a little intimidated by the process.
Just have my phone set to syncthimg between a second drive on my pc and the home folder on the pc rsync to the same drive. I need an external provider to back that up.
I always bootstrap business ideas without spending any or little money to start. Making a small thing on github that says “managed service, please contact for pricing” channel that through a virtual assistant to weed out the time wasters. If you get a lot of demand, then you scale up and flesh out complete automation.
You could always outsource and automate the basic troubleshooting aspects. Running updates accross multiple customers would be a breeze. I beleive I’ve seen one managed services company that will set up an instance and manage it for around $20/mo.
More like mv a/somedirectory/andanother/thenonemore/longfilenameislong b/another_directory/directory2/stillmore2goanddontmisspellanything
Sometimes you just want to move a file from folder to another.
I guess I wasn’t thinking about how much work it would actually be in order to enforce it. I doubt I could afford the cost. Maybe if it was coupled with a managed services type of deal and you had enough subsrcibers it could be enough to hire another staff member? It seems like adding “premium” features could alieanate the userbase unless it’s just cosmetic changes. I put my foot in my mouth bringing it up, sorry.
Indeed it is a big ask, however, It would be something I’d be willing to pay for. Many foss projects make money from paying customers as well as donations. I also mention and explain what lemmy is and encourage people to check it out in the getting started area of the site.
It’s the little heart on the top on desktop.
It would also be nice to remove the join lemmy link on the bottom as well as a few other tweaks.
More customization for site owners. I have an independent instance and there’s a lot of things on there that are confusing for people unfamiliar with the fefiverse or lemmy. It would also be nice to remove the donation beg at the top. I know Lemmy needs funding, but it makes it look like I’m asking for donations.
Sometimes pooping helps.
Those are all considered skilled labor because you couldn’t just grab a rando off the street to do it right now. The real issue is that you couldn’t just grab a random person to start moving heavy boxes around either because it requires physical abilities. Even “unskilled” jobs require skills which many don’t have. If you can’t stand for the majority of 12 hours then you’re unskilled in my mind, shouldn’t have skipped leg day. Workers, staff, general labor would be ok terms, but not great.
