This is absolutely true, but I do think that a lot of Americans are in fact ready to hear this. There is just a lot of money and power involved. And those with money and power don’t want to change it since it won’t improve their lives. There’s also religion involved. And many Republicans are religious and have been fooled into thinking that universal healthcare is all about allowing abortion.

Based on the upcoming robot apocalypse, obviously.

And now that Republicans are set to have the Presidency, Congress and SCOTUS all at the same time, there doesn’t seem to be any barriers left.

Also, older people were more prone to dying from Covid. That left a lot of room for conspiracy theories regarding what actually killed them. Heard of lot of conservative family members say “oh, it was probably just a bad flu that killed them.” And when the vaccines came out that quickly changed to “the vaccine killed them.”

Quite the difference from how half the US population reacted to a Covid vaccine. The power of political propaganda and social media conspiracy theories.

A pregnant women was refused entrance to a private hospital she was forced to give birth on the parking lot in front of the entrance.

Much different situation than in the US. They didn’t go bankrupt. The private hospital just wanted to send them the the maternity room down the road. Was it a mistake by the hospital? Yes. But it wasn’t because of insurance and the mother didn’t got bankrupt.
