  • Right so then couldn’t it follow that human survivors may have no impact on their gut bacteria? If there are only two people and their microbiomes, and the snap kills 1 person and their entire microbiome, then the surviving person would have no or microscopically small impact on their bacteria assuming an even distribution of bacteria across the two people. Basically the OOP is assuming that of the people that died, half of their bacteria would survive, impacting survivors’ microbiomes, rather than assuming 100% of bacteria would die with their hosts, leaving the surviving population’s bacteria intact.

  • How long can gut microbiomes survive after the host is dead? Wouldn’t a dead host essentially mean near 100% fatality for the gut microbiome meaning that anybody killed by a Thanos snap would also mean a 100% kill rate of their gut bacteria, leaving any survivors to basically keep all 100% of their gut bacteria?

  • That’s pretty much the year. Like they will have to cut off the data collection at some point. Because, well, when the wrapped Playlist comes out, you’re probably going to listen to that Playlist a few times, to recap your year, which would drive more data for those songs.

I dunno, just seems like a silly thing to worry about. “Oh my gosh they only captured 11 months of my listening! How will I know that I went from Taylor Swift non-stop for 11 months and then nothing but Mayhem for all of December!!” It’s a personal record of what you listened to throughout the year, and its kind of fun to see, but it has no actual bearing on your music taste. You still like what you like.

  • December can skew the wrap though. People will listen to more holiday music in December, they might use their spotify for Xmas parties, while wrapping presents, or just listen to it because 'tis the season. Suddenly Mariah Carey is contending for a top 10 artist and holiday music could be one of your top genres.

  • My buddy gave me a VHS camcorder and VCR for Christmas in like 2015. My favorite thing to do with them was to buy VHS movies from the thrift store and record home movies over them, but each time I would start to record I would randomly fast forward a minute or two. It was kinda cool and trippy to watch goofy shit we’d do and then it phases into a random scene from Edward Scissorhands before going back into the next adventure of ours.

  • Kissinger didn’t give a shit about the Jewish people, or people at all, even after seeing first hand the horrors of the Holocaust. Kissinger backed the genocide of Bengali Hindus, personally approved bombings in Cambodia, directly influenced the reign of terror that would murder thousands of Chileans, and told Nixon that the gassing of Soviet Jews wasn’t America’s concern. He called US jews who called for action against the Soviets “self serving bastards” and completely ignored his own heritage when visiting his home town in Germany.

Amazing that you would claim him when he wouldn’t claim you.

  • Reality is covid changed the way they did it, that and many stores closing on Thanksgiving. Then they realized they could still make a similar amount of money with less risk to people and property. And with digital retail becoming more popular they’ll lose less product to theft and damages if you ship from a warehouse or have a personal shopper get it for you and bring it to your car instead of going into an overcrowded store.

Employees are less stressed, everyone is safer, and sales numbers are the same or better.
