Meanwhile my experience with automounting network drives with dolphin is
Open Dolphin > Add Network Folder > Enter creds > Check automount box > done
I haven’t had to use the terminal for anything in years. There’s some things I do in the terminal, but that’s because I like it better, not because there isn’t an intuitive way to do it.
The reason guides tell people to use the terminal is because it’s the same across DEs, not because there aren’t DEs that make it more intuitive.
Would I throw a random non techy friend on Linux? No, because it’s not what they’re used to. If they had no computer experience at all though I absolutely would.
Yeah, ironic they chose dolphin to make that point since I literally just did it in dolphin ~a month ago and it has a checkbox to set up automount for you.
If you already have one, just try that, see if it works.
You’ll probably be fine with anything, NVidia’s gotten to work well over the last year or two. If you want to be safe any AMD card should work well.
I’d just buy the best used AMD card in your budget.

Yarrr, matey!
That’s certainly a choice
What do you need root for on ReVanced?
Yeah, the single menu button is my biggest issue with KDE apps, I wish there was a way to turn that off system-wide instead of having to do it for every app.
Its good for people who like the one very specific workflow they go for.
My main problem with it is they cause problems for like every other DE. GTKs insistence on only supporting CSD makes any GTK app integrate so much worse on anything else. (Vice versa having no fallback ssd, so apps are just broken on gnome if the toolkit doesn’t support CSD)
Or all the problems it’s caused with various Wayland protocols by refusing to compromise or saying nothing until it’s almost finalized then coming out against them.
Like Valve explicitly calls out gnome as unsupported because they refused to implement DRM leasing for years.
I don’t dislike gnome because of the software itself, opinionated projects are good, even when I have different opinions. I dislike gnome because I think it’s a net negative to the Linux ecosystem as a whole.
Yeah, at least with plasma I can change all the defaults I don’t like, but with gnome you have to hope there’s an extension that’s moderately up to date or make one of your own.
Other methods of data collection can be scarily effective. Stores have identified people were pregnant before they knew.
Very likely they identified you as someone that could have that condition, and you noticing the ads after talking to your doctor is a form of recency bias.
You can collect almost all the same data from traditional surveillance methods. Collecting and processing mocrophone data just isn’t effective enough to make up for the massively increased costs from processing it.
Yeah, there’s just more effective methods to get essentially the same data.
I wouldn’t even say it’s a symptom of fascism, more just a symptom of the same things that give rise to fascism
USB A is bad and ditching it is the one good thing Apple has done.
There’s going to be a transition period, but we’re at a point where you can buy USB C peripherals for pretty much anything
I assume it’s a different system since it works on Wayland, but idk
Honestly, they just shouldn’t have added support. GNOMEs been causing problems for basically everyone else for a long time. If they want to do their own thing, that’s fine, but we shouldn’t but everyone else shouldn’t have to do extra work to accommodate them.
Eh, there’s a completely independent reimplementation of the server, so I’d be surprised if the same doesn’t happen for the apps if there’s a real issue that comes up
If you self host bitwarden/vaultwarden, each client stores an encrypted copy of the database, so even if your server was completely destroyed, you’d still have access to all the accounts you’re saving in it.
Yep, it does!
