There is some things I would have liked to keep up on, but Lemmy has a lot of the stuff I am interested in, and Discord covers some other bits. I use social media less which is good. I am more productive and sleep quicker.
The FOMO is the brain craving dopamine. The solution is getting used to less, not chasing more.
Make the internet work for you, not the internet working you.
Nothing has exactly the same experience as MS. I don’t think there is a clone project for it.
The two you listed are your best options.
Does LibreOffice have any issues that prevent you using it? If not, it’s probably that your expectations are set by your comfort and familiarity with Office and that is the problem you need to solve.

I’ll save retyping.
Firstly, I have more than one account for different purposes. These were created when performance problems were rampant, and my view was always to return, and then the Hexbear defederation happened before even federation occurred based on speculation. It was much quicker than Exploding Heads defederation was. Based on that decision and the way it was worded in the announcement, which failed to be impartial, detached, or hiding in personal intent, I was hesitant to return fully. See the lemm.ee announcement taken for contrast which was done by someone with more than enough reason to defederate, but they approached it in a balanced and mature manner. In line with that, this can become quite sinister:
“Always post compliant content that upholds the rules of the individual community and the website, and is of personal interest to you.”
“uphold the rules of the website” and ensure posts are “compliant”. It very much comes across as though world is a political site, and has taken a clear editorial line. Anyone from the left isn’t welcome… and steps will be taken if it makes anyone feel any cognitive dissonance. lemmy.ml, lemm.ee and shit.just.works are far superior general purpose instances.
Interestingly enough, you have the following:
“Vote for the content, not for the person.”
and yet you decided to search me, and go for the ad hominem. Playing the person and not the point. I’m getting the anyone that disagrees is a problem vibe here.
Lemmy.world getting increasingly like Beehaw on steroids. Ironically, for their anti-authoritarian editorial policies, they’re increasingly stomping down what is and isn’t acceptable. Most people who like to be treated like adults fortunately have lemm.ee or Lemmy.ml

Agreed. What you say matters here. Your post won’t be buried with only you for an upvote.
It’s weird to rely on proprietary when you can use Matrix spaces.
If you set your language on account, it should bring back stuff set as your language and undefined.
It absolutely used to suck performance wise since I used an S4 for about 2 years. Since then, it’s been great. As someone who used to dislike the performance, and now loves it, even over chromium stuff, I can safely suggest your oversimplified opinion is without any real basis. Sucks is such a vague word, and I guess it stops you having to detail and rationalise your personal opinion.
It’s always been great on the desktop.
For default search.
I’m sure you’re aware Firefox isn’t in the search market. They are in the browser market and need to fund browser development. They’ve used Yahoo in the past and will go with whatever deal gives the best value. They could go with Bing if they wanted.
Funding from them does not mean control, and your insinuation is misleading and false.
This bug has now hopefully been fixed, and should work with next release:

It possibly is because there is an error with one of the mod accounts already existing. You could request they remove old admins if they are inactive and this may help to push across the mods. Otherwise, it’s waiting for the next release.

I have same issue on my lemmy.ml acount. It returns a 400 bad request on firefox.
Edit: resolved as of 26/07/23. Can now login.
No thanks. It just shows good looking people to folk to hook them in. A dopamine datamining trap. No thanks.
One that seems to look up to someone who has shown how not to run a social media company. It’s quite pathetic really.
Are you up to date? I had to update and it allowed log out and log in fine.
I think they’re aware of the 2 hours difference from kbin to other instances and will likely investigate it at some point.
That is so hot!
Thanks for sharing :).
Loving the transparency.
Not useful feedback, so apologies in advance.
While Rustaceons want to rebuild everything in Rust, web devs rebuild everything in Node and js. I personally hate it. A few open source projects I care about are in is and I just cannot. Hate the language except for front end dynamic web page stuff where there is no real alternative.
