Can confirm, not even an official tester (just an open beta tester) and have acrued a reputation for having a legendary bug aura that can cause catastrophic and previously unseen edge cases to occur just by opening the software (game)
I mean I did complain on lemmy about how annoying it was a few times, its a shame too because this problem turned out to be super simple and potentially super common, it would just take a couple of lines being changed on the official setup guide to resolve it… actually come to think of it since its just renaming a file all it would take is having 2 copies of that file in the image with both names since only one is ever going to be used at a time anyway.
Mint Cinnamon. It turned out just to be switching the name of a file on the boot media but it took a long time to work through other issues to get there.
I finally switched to Linux, while Linux itself is just as easy to use as Windows, actually installing Linux can be a nightmare. When setup works properly its no harder than windows, the other 95% of the time its about chasing down an easily solved problem but you have to figure out which easily solved problem it is.
Except AI companies are already using data from Internet Archive wholesale with paying them a cent.
I suspect a lot of guns, explosives, body armor and anti-armor munitions due to the immediate civil war that would break out in most countries as the wealthy elite tells the government to confiscate everyones matter replicators.
Which is the ultimate goal I think, if your main storage is already as fast as RAM then you just don’t need RAM anymore and also can’t run out of memory in most cases since the whole program is functionally already loaded.
The scary part is even humans don’t really have a proper escape mechanism for this kind of misinformation. Sure we can spot AI a lot of the time but there are also situations where we can’t and it kind of leaves us only trusting people we already knew before AI, and being more and more distrustful of information in general.
I mean… they are out of touch. I’m sure its possible to have a pain free switch over but when I had trouble the advice was interspersed with quite a few caveats. In essence Linux is ‘easy to setup but…’ Still gonna try again though, also guys that laptop you all said was dying because linux made it crash is still working fine on windows with no sign of trouble.
Its also affected by which direction the sun hits your house from, your commute to work (if applicable) and what kind of diet you had when growing up.
Didn’t the boeing guy pretty explicitly state that he was not suicidal to family and friends right before he died?
We got some of it, its just that killer drones and SI aren’t as cool on this side of the screen, and the cyberware is only for rich people (though there is a growing 3D printed movement for amputees) That said with some craft skills we can at least make the cool punk armor and kneepads and have it be reasonably functional, even deploy a blade if you’re ambitious, though more predator than mantis in that regard.
Be the change you want to see.
Pretty sure he’s now functionally the worlds richest man (including oligarchs with a lot of hidden wealth) what with his newly aquired un-supervised access to 6 trillion in US government funds.
Aren’t these the same cards that have been self destructing during driver updates?
But it can run cyberpunk at a whole 21 frames per second!
iirc the machines that TSMC uses are made in Holland right when he’s also apparently doing his best to piss of Europe, even then there’s like a decade long order backlog.
I wouldn’t be surprised if China spent more on AI development than the west did, sure here we spent tens of billions while China only invested a few million but that few million was actually spent on the development while out of the tens of billions all but 5$ was spent on bonuses and yachts.
The US is also a regulations haven compared to other developed economies, corporations get away with shit in most places but America is on a whole other level of regulatory capture.
Ok so genuine question (and also my odd moral I guess?) why is eating a plant more moral than eating an animal? They’re both equally alive and subsequently equally dead. Sure plants don’t have a nervous system but they do react to harmful stimuli in a way somewhat analagous to a pain response. The only real difference appears to be that we can relate to animals more.
