Googling so many “how do I do X?” type of questions have top-results of 10-minute videos where someone has their cluttered Desktop in full 1920x1080 and then they open the tiny command prompt in a small window (it’s clear they have no idea how to record a video), where they clumsily type commands they clearly don’t understand, and fumble through the entire process.
I just needed a single command. It should have been a 1-second result at the top of search, not shitty videos or SEO dynamically-generated shit site that are trying to sell me something.
The content didn’t violate Lemmy terms of service or be of anything illegal, just the rules the mod posted.
If the mod has a short list of rules that say not to post X, and a user specifically posts X, what can I do really do about it? They may get some downvotes, but the posts stays up. The post gets reported, but the post still stays up. I check back a week later, and the post is still there.
I can’t build a community up, and if it’s clear the creators of that community and/or the current mods themselves have moved on or simply don’t care, then I will just move on.
I just stop reporting posts and simply leave the community if the posts stay up for several weeks.
They usually cover/conceal nipples, so you don’t see everything.
In the list of “games”, the top item is the “Just Talking” or whatever the category is called. Click that and try various sorting.
I installed Firefox (Android version) on a Chromebook to see if I could keep 2 browsers with separate profiles and setups.
The Firefox browser on a Laptop computer looked awful. A narrow phone UI, but stretched really, really wide. It made no attempt at utilizing a wide tablet layout.
joke’s on you. i can’t read
Part of the problem is the instance’s open registrations which do not require you to enter an e-mail address during signup.
How is this even a thing? Why would the Lemmy software even allow operation like this?

“Push to start” may stop someone driving off in the car, but they are still targets.
Thieves smash the windows, hop in, see the lack of key startup, then hop out. You still will end making a call to the police or insurance company.
Having “Hyundai” or “Kia” anywhere on the car makes them a target of thieves, even with push to start.
As of April 2022, Blizzard had apparently sold over 50,000,000 copies of Overwatch. That means it is one of the best-selling games of all time. That is over 50,000,000 copies now gone. Of course you’re going to hear a LOT of complaints.
Were any of those other games you’re talking about as big as Overwatch? Were they as successful as Overwatch? I really doubt they had anywhere near the player-base as Overwatch.
Lots of companies switch games around. Many times it’s because they are financially hurting or otherwise need a way to increase funding.
Blizzard had a massive hit and also promised updates to make the game even better.
After years and years of promising this, Blizzard basically told all their customers psych.
Not only was the big PvE mode not coming, they very game they were already playing all these years was also going away.
I bought Overwatch on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC. I also bought it for my daughter on PC. We would play online together.
I would then buy myself and my daughter each a big loot box pack when there was a new event (Halloween, Christmas, etc.) so that we could get some fun cosmetics.
I paid A LOT of money for Overwatch.
Blizzard then killed off the game. It’s gone. We cannot play it, ever again.
In its place is now Overwatch 2. It looks similar, but it plays differently and has new mechanics and a whole-new monetary system that locks gameplay elements behind a paywall.
The game now being “free” for everyone to download doesn’t make anything about it better. And it certainly doesn’t make up for the fact that the old game is gone.
The spelling and grammar in both the comic and OP’s title bother me, especially since there is a “stay in school” punchline.
Some examples:
Incorrect:
“Stay in School Kids”
Correct:
“Stay in school, kids.”
Incorrect:
“Woah, really?”
Correct:
“Whoa, really?”
Just as enjoyable as 2 Year old threads showing up right in the middle of my hot & fresh feed.
This is unfortunately an accurate description of that movie.
Think of something like Airplane! or Ghostbusters. There are so many memorable and/or silly parts and lines that people remember well and will repeat over and over. But of course, each also has a real movie to go along with it.
All the clips and lines and other zany parts of Kung Pow can be hilarious, but the movie itself is pretty bad.

I bet all the silverware is chained down, too.
Same here. “I’ll start flipping every fucking table in this place unless you let me pay.”
If not that, I loudly proclaim that I have to go take a big, creamy shit, and then I simply go find the waiter to pay.
Picture unrelated…
That looks like the species that shows up every year.
