Gigantic 80" screens generally draw something like 120W
In HDR mode they can draw a lot more than that for short peaks
Yes. I run PopOS and Hackintosh on my Thinkpad, use the new M4 Mac Mini as my main desktop (with hopes of Asahi Linux support in the future), and run unRAID on my completely overpowered Ryzen 5900x NAS, where I have a Win10 LTSC VM for the rare occasion I need to run software that only runs on x86 Windows.
I would prefer to only use Linux if I could, but MacOS is very competent and far superior to Windows in my opinion. I have never had any issues accessing my unRAID shares on it
There is nothing coming close to /r/steroids on Lemmy. The reason that subreddit is so great is that the moderators there are very quick at deleting noob questions that are answered in the wiki, and will quickly call out anyone giving dangerous advice.
Even on reddit the competing subreddits like /r/PEDs and /r/testosterone are absolute garbage that probably got dozens of people killed from a heart attack or stroke at this point
Better deal after 5 years, if they still exist and honor the lifetime subscription by the time 5 years have passed
It’s pretty easy to jailbreak a Kindle and block firmware updates. But the fact that it is necessary in the first place sucks
Despite no longer sticking to the DIN standard, and climate controls being integrated into the infotainment system, there still exists a big market for aftermarket infotaiment systems, they just have to be engineered for the specific make of car you have. But they can be bought for most cars that have infotaiment systems that are now outdated
Well, there has to be some kind of algorithm. Even picking a random Wikipedia article technically is an algorithm, just not one that adapts to the user
Yeah, I’m not gonna tell the 50 users of my plex server to set up wireguard on their devices so they can request movies and TV series on my overseer, when I can instead just use NPM to make it publically accessible with a password prompt
Are you blocked from installing browser extensions?
Yes, the Pixel 7 Pro was when Google still only had 2 models, the big pro model and the small non-pro model.
With the Pixel 9 series there are 3 options, the budget pixel 9, which is a small phone, the Pixel 9 Pro, which is a flagship but the same size as the small Pixel 9,or the Pixel 9 Pro XL, which is the big version of the flagship Pixel 9 Pro. So you no longer need to compromise if you want a small Pixel phone
Well, it may only have had a 4 inch screen, but it also had huge bezels. It’s less tall than modern flagships, but almost the same width, making it similar for one handed use.

The Pixel 9 Pro is a flagship phone, the only difference to the Pixel 9 Pro XL is the size, charging speed and battery capacity
Lol, let me introduce you to http://smspva.com/
Not if there’s fewer there to see ads
But you usually pay per click or impression, not a flat rate. So that alone shouldn’t be a reason for them to stop advertising there
You clearly don’t have low appetite
During the early days of Android phones, when most of them shipped with open bootloaders and still had microsd card slots, I’ve seen so many store display phones that were flashed with cyanogenmod by random people
Sorry, nuance is not allowed on Lemmy.
Discontinuing Windows 10 when Windows 11 is such a terrible OS is the real issue, continuing to support EOL Windows version in their Office suite would simply make no sense.
Once you have crossed a certain amount of ingested THC it only prolongs the effects but doesn’t make them stronger. I’ve heard of people being high for over 24 hours from a miscalculated edible dosage
Most manufacturers only list average power draw, but in HDR mode you can get much higher peak power useage.
This website also lists peak power draw for many TVs, in this example the Bravia 9 85 inch has a peak of 380W
