I haven’t used windows in about 15 years on my personal machines but see 7zip referenced everywhere…why is it so popular? Can windows 10/11 or whatever we’re on now not compress/extract most things itself or do people prefer it for some reason (nice interface etc)?

Many countries are decarbonising like the UK has by getting rid of coal fired power stations and switching to renewables plus gas, because gas is a good way to solve the intermittency issues you get with many renewables. 2040 is not very far away, on that timescale the demand for LNG may actually go up.

Just a small note that the businesses only have to open source their version if they release it. If they just use it internally then they don’t have to distribute the source code. So it depends on the use case.

Have you turned off Firefox’s built-in enhanced tracking protection? If not, turn it off but leave uBlock Origin on and see if that solves your issue.
