What does this even mean, “a world without shells”? What is running inside this newfangled terminal if not a shell?

It’s for work only, no gaming. I have a Steam Deck and a Linux desktop for gaming.

My hardware refresh came up this year. I asked for a MacBook instead of a windows laptop for the first time in my long career. Linux isn’t an option at my org yet.

This has the stench of junior engineer all over it. This rewrite will go way over budget and come limping across the finish line late, with more bugs and less features than the system it replaces. I guarantee it.

Re: length of commands, PS commands are longer, but they also have tab completion so realistically you never type the whole thing, only enough to be unambiguous and press tab. I’ll grant it’s still longer than the equivalent bash, but not by as much as it appears.

Same. I recently spent a few hours failing to either build gamescope from source or get the flatpak versions of gamescope and steam working together. Others got it working a few months ago, but their steps didn’t work for me and I just decided I’d rather spend my time playing without HDR than keep trying at it. Wouldn’t have been so hard on a disto better supported by gamescope.

Optimus Prime was a real shock for sure. For me it’s any animal death.

Whatever. I collected and watched Evangelion on VHS back in the 90s. Maybe “incel” isn’t quite accurate, but Shinji really was quite a pathetic wimp of a protagonist.

Btw she was hospitalized after a savage defeat while piloting a mech where the pilot feels all the damage as if it’s happening to them. Her mech was ripped apart and devoured by a pack of hostile umanned mechs.

I sort of regret watching it myself and never rewatched
